Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®)
An American Heart Association
and Laerdal Program
Experts agree—small imperfections in CPR are harmful to patients, and skills can decay as soon as three months after training.
Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) programs utilize the latest science to help healthcare providers improve competence and confidence in their CPR skills so that when the time comes, they can provide the highest level of life-saving patient care.
RQI programs are available globally for the following American Heart Association disciplines: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Reducing CPR
Skills Decay
Skills Decay
Research shows that CPR skills can begin to deteriorate just three to six months after training.
The RQI programs follow the latest science to deliver cognitive learning and skills training in a shorter, more frequent format to reduce skills decay.
Low-dose, High-frequency Model
Participants complete an initial enrollment assignment, then take part in short quarterly cognitive and psychomotor assessment activities and CPR skills sessions at an RQI Simulation Station(link opens in new window)(link opens in new window) located in-hospital on-site and on-demand.
