Global heart health leaders gathered at the 2024 European Society of Cardiology Congress in London to focus on the future of cardiovascular science and care. A highlight was the Association’s joint session with the American College of Cardiology, where the Association’s Volunteer President Keith Churchwell, M.D., FAHA, addressed the obesity crisis, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions, including lifestyle changes and accessible treatments. The congress also stressed the importance of utilizing advanced strategies, such as AI, to support both health care research and practice. In response, the Global Cardiovascular Research Funders Forum announced a global data challenge to address gaps in research funding for cardiovascular and stroke diseases, utilizing the Association’s breakthrough A.I.-driven Precision Medicine Platform.
